Conficker From A to Z

There are some easy ways to find out if your machine has the Conficker Worm. Currently we are up to Conficker.E which came out on April 8th of this 2009.

Click on this site and use the Conficker eye chart to see if you are infected.

If you are infected immediately unplug your computer and bring it to our store or your regular computer shop. We are charging a flat $50 to remove Conficker.

The following is from the New York Times and is a fantastic example of why you shouldn't try to clean this on your own. Remember your machine is already infected.

In recent days, there have been multiple reports of scam artists popping up on the Internet offering to help remove the Conficker virus from the hard drives of a skittish public. They’re buying domain names, often ones that include the Conficker name (a growing list is maintained here) and putting up pages that mimic real security-software maker sites.

This is the latest news on Conficker activity:

The Conficker worm, believed to have burrowed into millions of computers around the world, has sent an encrypted data message to infected machines, according to a computer security firm.

Trend Micro said the purpose of the mysterious update, sent to other infected machines using peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer software, was not immediately clear.
